The SODAH Kids (and sometimes their parents, too) enjoy watching movies. This section includes their thoughts and ideas about some popular films.

New this month:

My Sister’s Keeper

Sara and Brian Fitzgerald were willing to do just about anything to save their daughter Kate, who was diagnosed with leukemia. However, their only hope seemed to be in conceiving another child, Anna, who would be a perfect donor match for Kate. Whenever Kate is hospitalized, so is Anna.

Sara’s determination often leaves her blind to the other problems surrounding her and her family. At 11, Anna starts to fall through the cracks. It surprises her whole family when she hires her own lawyer to help her seek medical emancipation.

Anna’s decision devastates the whole family and leaves Kate’s worsening condition up to fate. Watching how far one sister will go for another and the Fitzgerald family's strong ties is beautifully heartbreaking. Although the movie differs from the novel, it still keeps the main premise of family and love.
